New Beginnings: How To Look Forward And Stay Positive

When things come to an end a lot of emotions explode inside of us just like a firework, suddenly you're overwhelmed with all these feelings and it's hard to make sense of it. Whether it be a relationship, friendship, death, event or any part of your life, when things come to an end it can be hard to know what to do. When things end badly, you hurt inside and it can be painful, like physical pain that you can't just put a plaster on or wipe up the mess, instead you have to find other ways to comfort this pain and help the cuts heal. Sometimes you torture yourself for an explanation and grieve for something you've lost, because when things end a big space of your life just becomes empty, like a black hole has just burst in and grown to a very large size. It's hard to come to terms with and very very weird for a while, but thats okay. It's always okay to feel this pain and grieve in any form that feels natural to you, you have to let it out to move forward. Bad things happen in life and when things become toxic it's okay to take a new path and a new direction, although you may be hurting and sad. Today I wanted to talk about looking forward and making the best of a new beginning and a new chapter in your life.

So when the end of something happens, it really is okay. In fact it's good! If you know me or have read some of my other posts on here you'll know I'm a firm believer that change is a very very good thing, I love it and it makes me happy. So an ending should really be seen simply as a change. The first step is always putting a positive spin on it and looking for all the positives and squishing the negatives. A new beginning can mean whatever you want it to be: a new outfit, a new hair style, a new hobby, new priorities, new people, a new habitat or a new job. Whatever your circumstance, when you have a fresh start I encourage you to change as much as you can and want. A refresh is   a beautiful thing and can leave you feeling like a new person. Change is exciting, not scary. If we didn't change there would be no growth, and with every ending and every fresh start comes more growth because now you have this time and space where you were focussing your energy on someone else that you can now use entirely selfishly. In this period of time its okay to be super selfish and look after yourself, grow and delve into new experiences, because what makes life meaningful? Growth, experience and memories. Even the bad ones.

Priorities are another very important thing, and to me getting your priorities straight is a very important thing. So when a new chapter arises it's time to take a look at your priorities and make some adjustments. This might mean working on a different relationship such as family or friends, working on yourself, becoming passionate about a subject or hobby or work and success. Readjusting your focus and throwing yourself full throttle into something is so beneficial for your healing and recovery. Keep your mind busy and get really inspired, because if you can do that you can start afresh and succeed while doing it, and success makes everyone feel better about themselves and their life. So do whatever it is you've been dying to try, put yourself first, and just go for it 100%.

Loving yourself and working on yourself is another thing that can help when things end, I strongly believe that when you have this time and space that you were using on someone or something else you should be entirely selfish with it and look after yourself and create the person you know you can be. It's good to have the time to nurture yourself and build yourself up, I remember when I was at my absolute happiest and I was on my own, being myself and expressing myself and it makes you so much stronger and wiser. A knowledge of who you are is only gained when you spend time with yourself, I'm someone who likes my own space anyway so it's good to be able to focus on you and what you want. Push yourself, get creative, and mould yourself into your perfect self. That doesn't mean working on your body necessarily but looking good makes you feel good and a new start means a new level of motivation to push yourself to new heights and accomplish what you want, and show what an amazing person you are. However, to create your dream body you need your mental strength to be on a new level. Mental strength and weaknesses are something i've been very focussed on in the past few months and let me just say that when you start to get yourself back on track the sense of freedom is incredible, because when you feel amazing on the inside and have full trust and faith in yourself, everything becomes easier. Being comfortable on your own and with yourself is the best super power anyone can have, because you are the only person who will always be there and once you have that security you can never fail.

The last thing I wanted to talk about is support and trust, the importance of a close group of friends and a good relationship with your family is something that can never be underestimated. When you have the people around you that you can always rely on, everything is okay. These people know you and they know what's best for you, so listen to them and thank them when you get the chance. People will come and go from your life but your true friends and your family will always stand strong for you so keep them close and show them love. Nights in are just as important as nights out, and friendship is a beautiful thing. Enjoy the company of your friends and tell them how you're feeling, because letting it out allows you to leave it behind. It will be okay, and you have people who love you, always, it's okay for things to change.

So when things change and you're presented with a fresh start, leave the past behind you and jump into the next chapter with joy and optimism. It's okay to not be okay for a while and it's okay to be sad, but when you're ready the world will be ready for you too. With every change comes knew possibilities and opportunities and you never know what's coming next..
